Purpose & Position Summary:

We are hiring a Yard Associate to support the daily operations of our yard and warehouse by receiving materials, staging orders, and ensuring projects are prepared efficiently for field crews.

This is a hands-on, physical role that plays a critical part in keeping projects running smoothly. You’ll help ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time—supporting both field teams and overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming fencing materials (posts, panels, gates, hardware)
  • Load trucks and trailers for daily job site needs
  • Move materials throughout the yard safely and efficiently
  • Operate forklifts or equipment
  • Ensure materials are handled properly to prevent damage

Project Kitting

  • Pull and stage materials for upcoming jobs based on work orders
  • Organize job-specific materials into complete “kits” for crews
  • Verify accuracy of orders before release to field teams
  • Communicate with project managers and field crews to ensure readiness
  • Support last-minute adjustments to job materials as needed

Yard Organization

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard/warehouse
  • Ensure materials are stored in designated locations
  • Keep staging areas clear and efficient for daily operations
  • Assist in improving yard layout and workflow efficiency
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free environment

Inventory Count

  • Assist with routine inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Track material usage and report discrepancies
  • Support inventory organization and labeling
  • Communicate low stock levels to leadership
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records

Fleet Maintenance

  • Assist with basic upkeep of company trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, organized, and job-ready
  • Support tracking of maintenance needs and schedules
  • Identify and report damage or repair needs
  • Help maintain tools and equipment in working condition

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in general labor, warehouse, or yard work
  • Forklift experience, minimum 1 year
  • Material delivery, staging, and field support experience
  • Basic computer skills for inventory
  • Mechanical problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lift 50–100lbs regularly and perform physical labor daily
  • Strong work ethic and reliable
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to Drive and Insured, Clean Driving Record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction, fencing, or building materials
  • Experience with inventory or warehouse processes
  • Ability to take initiative and improve organizational systems
